The MCF would like to thank Mr Archer and Mr Ridley for donating their time and expertise in running a training session in Scotland. The students of XS Scotland from the 3 year olds to the veterans all had a wonderful time and learned a lot.

There was an excellent turnout and the day started out with the rainbows who Mr Archer & Mr Ridley immediately put at ease by making the “wee yins” laugh at their jokes. Mr Archer used many little tricks and methods that he has acquired over the years to help them improve their stances and techniques. They all left exhausted but laughing.

Next it was the turn of the juniors. Although there was still a lot of fun in this session the actual training was a lot more serious and at the end all the juniors commented on how much they had learned. All of the parents who watched this session were very impressed with Mr Archer and Mr Ridley’s knowledge and skill of Taekwon-do.

The adults then started with Mr Archer taking the coloured belts and Mr Ridley taking the black belts. Mr Archer concentrated on patterns and techniques while Mr Ridley concentrated on physical training and sparring techniques. Mr Ridley’s fitness and enthusiasm was infectious and greatly motivated all the veterans! There was some serious training at this session and all the students were exhausted by the end of it.

Both Mr Archer and Mr Ridley’s knowledge of Taekwon-do is immense and they both have a great way of passing on this knowledge in a way that is easy to understand no matter what the age of the student.

All the students, from the rainbows to the veterans, said they would not have missed it for anything!

All of XS Scotland would like to thank Mr Archer and Mr Ridley for taking the time to come up to Scotland and making it such a great day for all the students. Their generosity is greatly appreciated and of course, we would like to thank them for raising funds for MCF and helping Malcolm to continue with his treatment.
